There’s a free download of a new song, ‘Popcorn Blues’, over at our Bandcamp!

Listening to the final mixes of the new EP. Can’t wait to get this guy out there. Watch this space.
We are now simply called Coat Hooks. I got fed up of the long-winded title.
In other news, the new EP is about to get mixed! I planned on writing an online diary chronicling its recording, but things moved swiftly. I’m very excited about it, but more on that closer to its release!
EP #2: Day 1.
Neil and I swung by the studio tonight to begin recording our second EP; officially ending our time pumping, breathing and performing only The Whittling.
Once again, we’re working with producer David Anderson at his home studio, Android Acoustics. Tonight we captured some tasty beats to a couple of new guys (‘To the Staring Husks!’ and ‘The Fox is Still Standing’). I’m excited.
I’m also excited about our forthcoming gig at King Tut’s, which you should totally come to. We’re supporting Cattle & Cane, and new to the Coat Hooks ranks for the evening are Sunshine Social multi-instrumentalist and all-round star, Nav Noorbakhsh, and a man of fine taste, Andy McKinnon.
After a lovely evening at King Tut’s, I’m now off to Edinburgh to perform at Loch Awe’s first birthday gig.
This isn’t Coat Hooks related, but I’d thought I’d put up a massive THANK YOU to those who came along to see Reverieme play at T in the Park this weekend.
We had an absolute blast, and playing at the same festival as Weezer, Foo Fighters, Roddy Woomble, Jimmy Eat World and Slash made my brain melt. The other T Break acts I that managed to catch (Woodenbox, Thrum, Boycotts, Conquering Animal Sound, Sucioperro, United Fruit, Evaline and Romance) were all mighty fine and wonderful. What a lovely weekend.
When nights become days.
The past few days have been spent in Edinburgh, recording with Matthew and his fellow Loch Awe compatriot, Jack McKay Fletcher.
Amidst windy journeys to Arthur’s Seat, delicious lunches, disagreements, agreements, raspberryade, and general merriment, the three of us have recorded a wee split EP, which will be released in the near future! My eyes are now suitably dry and crusty from forgetting to pack additional contact lenses.
Oh man, oh my, oh me.
I ain’t no lamp.
Consider yourself revamped, Tumblr!
Since I last posted, the EP has popped out. People seem to be enjoying it, which is nice, so thank you, those of you who picked up a copy, or listened to it on Spotify or Bandcamp. I really appreciate it!
I imagine I’ll start posting grizzly band stories here on a regular basis, but for now, here’s a wee collection of Whittling-related quotes:
“I must admit, I was pretty damn impressed.”
Lovely. Now here’s the wee guy hanging out with some cool cats.
Self-promotion over. I’m off to listen to the new Fleet Foxes album again.
Hope you are all well!
